Joe-Joes, Bad Mommy and I Don't Like My Body

Well, I don't either, but this post isn't about me.

Jared's sick, again. He had an ear infection and a fever derived from it on Monday.
But he was all better by Monday night.

Today, when I got home, he was lying on the couch, complaining that his head hurts and his belly was hot. And exclaiming loudly that if he couldn't have me right then and there, he was going to die. I chuckled at that. Figuring he was just being dramatic.

Then he exclaimed loudly that if he didn't have Joe-Joe's (a vanilla oreo-like creme cookie from Trader Joe's that both boys LOVE!) right then and there, he was going to die. I told him he couldn't have any. And Alex informed me that I was so mean and the world's worst Mom that I would let his brother die over Joe-Joe's! I concurred.

Dinner went by, dessert (consisting of Joe-Joe's of course!) went by, gym went by. All was well, until Jared started to cry saying that his head and tummy hurts again. I took him to the clinic, where the doctor said that his ears are not infected; he doesn't have strep throat; his heartbeat was normal; his temperature was normal; oh yeah, and his belly seemed okay too. So I figured that I had just wasted my $35 co-pay and got conned by the kid for false alarm and attention.

Wrong! As soon as we got home, he puked BIG TIME. So now I feel like the world's worst mom, like Alex had told me earlier... On top of that, I had to hose Jared off, cuz well, he puked on himself.

anyway... to get to the last part of the title of this blog entry...

Jared stood outside the shower all skinny and frail looking, said in a very sad voice, "I don't like my body. It gets sick too easily!"

awww.... my poor little guy! I didn't know whether to cry or laugh.
