I had my ears repierced last night. Woot! I haven't been wearing earrings for a few years now, cuz after I had Alex, I was afraid he'd grab for the earrings when I was holding him. I've heard some horror stories about that! And I had just started to wear them when I had Jared and well, the same worry came back. And recently when I tried to put on a pair of earrings, I realized that the holes are closed! Eek! And I love my earrings!
Anyway, what I'm trying to get at is that earpiercing has become a huge deal! I remember walking around on the streets of Santa Monica with my college roommates and deciding to get a second piercing in my right ear, and some vendor on the street just did it. Now, you have to sign your first-born away to do it! Not only did I have to give them my driver's license, so they can write down the license number, and supposedly check for age to make sure I don't need parents' consent (how flattering! lol!), I also had to sign this long form with all sorts of legal babbles, initial about a zillion places. And THEN, was I able to pay my $40 for the earrings and "free" piercing, which is more than double the price from 15 years ago. So I guess that's a fair deal at least.
But why they need my driver's license number just to get my ears pierced, I have no clue! Someone enlighten me!
