Weird thing number 1: He's been watching this Chinese karoke song called "Super Star" (yes, the title is in English, so is one of the main lines) OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. It's a fast and rhythmic love song that choruses "You are my super star". He absolutely LOVES this song and will try to "sing" it in Chinese, which of course came out a blur, with a mic no less, then dances enthusiastically to the chorus lines. Hilarious to watch, even after 1000+ times of watching it!
Weird thing number 2: Today we were driving home and Eric points out the small herd of deer on the side of the road to Jared. "Look Jared, deer!" Jared squeaks in his high-pitched little voice, "ohhhh, elephants!!" Yes, we both busted out laughing.
Weird thing number 3: Our little future class-clown is so very expressive! Especially when encouraged with laughters. He made this funny face when Eric turned around in the car to look at him. And naturally Eric HAD TO laugh when he saw it, which Jared took to be encouragement, so now everytime we turn around to look at him, he graces us with one of those.
Weird thing number 4: He sits there in the middle of the stairwell and yells to me, "help me Mommy!" and I rush to him to see what the problem was. And what do I see? he's just sitting there nice and steady. I ask, "what's wrong Jared?" He looks at me very seriously "ah, help me, help me, the crocodiles are getting me!" Oh brother...
Weird thing number 5: Since he was sleeping in a regular bed and with me in shanghai, getting back into the crib and into his own room has been a little bit of a struggle. I think he's got the hang of it again though. But at nap time, he seems to get out of his crib (he can do this easily), and then CLIMBS BACK IN and sleeps. But yet when he wakes up, he doesn't climb out. He would sit or stand in his crib yelling "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, Mommy" repeatedly.
Weird thing number 6: He likes to "drive" his plates at meal time. God forbid you should put any food on his plate! He's driven his plate onto the floor in a restaurant once. To which he quickly asked "where's my plate?" upon hearing it shatter on the floor.
I wonder if the hypothyroid medication he's on is actually necessary...
