Explaining the blond hair?

Ok, I came across this article today and my first thought was, uh.. Jared? Though I don't have any of the "western" characteristics personally as described in the article, so it's hard to imagine that somewhere in my ancestry there's a blond. So how did Jared turn out a blond, since blond hair is a recessed gene? Anyway, I find this article interesting, since I always thought Chinese people are pure. hehe
