Christmas party, Chinese style

My mom had a Christmas party today. She invited her friends and claimed it was for fun for me and the boys. Heh.

Anyway, we had food, just as all parties have food. Here's where the interesting part comes in. Think of Christmas party, you'd think, what? Turkey? Roast beef? Mashed potatoes? Cranberry sauce?

Well here's what we had. It's a potluck, mostly, which means each family gets to bring one dish, while my mom provides more, along with drinks and all.

Potato salad
Tuna and chicken salad with rolls
Potstickers
Baked ziti (with white sauce, and LOTS of unhealthy stuff that made me not dare to eat it, for fear my heart would seize up!)
Sesame balls
Pork chops, chinese style
Egg custard, (dan-ta in Chinese)
Apple cake
Rice balls

Lots of food, as usual. All was yummy though. :D

We exchanged gifts and the boys got lots of toys! Alex was asking me whether Santa was going to find him here. Well, Santa was early, apparently!
