Since we are going to China, the kids' pediatrician suggested Hep A shots for the boys. And of course the annual flu shots. Yippeee. I took them both today, since Alex had the day off, for TEACHER day, whatever that is!
Needless to say Jared was traumatized! Well after the first shot, he cried a little, got the tazmania devil bandage and whoala, magic, it doesn't hurt any more. ah... but, there's the second shot waiting! Oh boy! That was BAD!!! He kept whimpering and breaking out into fresh tears every few seconds. Poor little guy! Alex, on the other hand, didn't even blink an eye with either shots. I swear he just said "oh it hurts" because he wanted to be just like Jared. Last year he talked the entire time they gave him the flu shot and afterwards, he said "is it done yet?"
ok, now back to today... So no matter how many "oh don't cry, Jared" (soothing tone) or "stop crying, Jared!" (threatening tone) I try, the whimper and the bursts continued. So, the magic word comes out "how about let's go get some milkshake???"
AHA!!! ding ding ding ding ding!!! Suddenly Jared stops. And says with a broad smile on his face, "yay! I want shake! my booboo doesn't hurt any more!"
If I was drinking, I'd have sprayed it all on the windshield!
