Priorities Are Important!

The boys went camping with their aunt and uncles and cousins this past weekend. They had a blast, naturally. It was so good, that they couldn't stop telling me about it on the drive home.

Alex recounted numerous fun things, the muddy lake that they swam in for hours ("oh, you don't need goggles. you can't see anything anyways in the water." EWWW!!!!); "lightsaber" fights with glow sticks; s'mores over open fire; fireworks over the lake and the fire department having a circle of boats of dry ice around the lake "just in case"." ahh... Good times! One big hit with him was the "cake wheel!" Apparently u put quarters on certain numbers and if they spin the wheel and it stops on your number, u win a cake. (Yes, we like to start the kiddies on a healthy habit of gambling early on.) Sounds like fun. But unfortunately, they tried and tried, but didn't win any cakes.

I expressed my sympathies on this, and informed the boys that they will be getting a shower as soon as we get home, since it was late, and the mother in me couldn't help it.

Alex: "Yeah, we're filthy dirty! You have to put in quarters to take showers at the camp ground. Each quarter gives u 3 minutes of water time. and we ran out of quarters on Saturday, cuz we put them all on the cake wheel!"

So... the last time they showered was Friday night, and it is now Sunday night...
