DC, Orchids and Easter Egg Hunt

We went to DC yesterday and I made the mistake of forgetting my jacket. It was soooooo cold!!!! It's April and it snowed the night before. Go figure! At least it didn't snow on and off all day like "they" predicted. But you know, how "THEY" are always wrong. Luckily, this time.

natural history museum photography show
We dodged into the closest museum from the Metro station, which turned out to be Natural History Museum (American History is actually closer, but it was closed for some reason. But just as well, I'd rather go to Natural History any day). Jared kept repeating "The dinosaurs are not going to eat me, Mommy." Oh good! For the most part of Mammals, the kids enjoyed it. Then came the photography show by National Geographics and they were AWESOME pictures. But of course the kids were bored to tears. TOO BAD. Mommy went through the whole thing drooling.

We skipped the hopeless Hope Diamond. Yeah well, it's a rock.

But there were orchids to be seen today. BEAUTIFUL orchids! There was a line and everyone went through the exhibit slowly, everyone taking the same pictures of the same orchids. I wonder how many of these pictures are out there. But of course, that didn't stop me any, and I still took way way way too many shots of the orchids. After all, when will I get to see so many beautiful orchids in one room again?

We headed home soon after walking around OUTSIDE the museum. The wind was helping with that decision.

egg hunt
Today is Easter, and our neighbor decided to have an egg hunt for the neighborhood kids. We have quite a few, all ages, and it was fun, even for the adults. We have fun neighbors, what can I say?!

Jared was the youngest and got to go first along with couple of other little ones. But they were taking way too long to find even a few, they had to let the rest of the restless kids loose quickly, so as to avoid a riot. Everyone found thjavascript:void(0)
Publisheir 12+ eggs, and was happily enjoying their sugar high. As if that wasn't enough, they had cupcakes and cookies. oh sure... sugar them up and send them home! Brilliant idea!

Lucky for me, I also had Alex's best friend and his little sister, cuz their mom and dad decided to be ambicious and repaint their whole house! So I had 4 sugar high kids in the house after the egg hunt. Yiiipppeeee! Maybe I shoulda had some sugar myself, so I can keep up with them. :D Next time.

Tomorrow is the last day of Spring Break. This week has just been flying by! On the other hand, summer vacation isn't too far off now. 2 more month. eeeeek!!!
