I hate SMOKING! (In case you haven't gotten it yet, this is a gripe blog)

That's part of China I can't stand! Along with spitting on the ground. argh!

But this was really getting to me. As I have said, my mom's in the hospital. I have been visiting her everyday and almost everytime I go, I find people smoking in the common area right outside the elevator. INSIDE a hospital, they are smoking! And no one, not even nurses or doctors or even security guards seem to give a damn about that. Absolutely disgusting! I can't believe that no one else seem to think a big deal for people to be smoking right near where there are hundreds of patients lying, some dying.

I know Hong Kong has banned public smoking, and there are lots of rumors that that's coming to China soon. I can't wait! I hate smoking and I can not wait til I no longer have to smell cigerette and cigars (not so much cigars here in Shanghai, but back in the States), since I choose not to smoke myself, I'd rather not die of second-hand smoking, thank you very much! And definately, there shouldn't be smoking in a hospital for crying out loud!

I'll even tolerate the disgusting spitting if I can just not have to smell like cigs whenever I leave a restaurant in China. One more reason not to eat out!
