Italian food, finally!

We were invited out, again, last night. Only this time, it was Italian food, not Chinese. Thank God! Never thought I'd say that, but I'm getting sick of eating out Chinese food. Home-cooked meals are a different story. I never tire those.

Ok, so my mom's boss came to Shanghai from Taiwan and has decided that he HAS TO take us out. Wisely, he came up with Italian food. The boys LOVED it. Especially Alex. I think he ate a week worth of food in one meal. He's been doing really well with Chinese food, mind you. He's trying everything and finding that he likes just about everything. It's great! Anyway, not to get sidetracked, he ate and ate and ate last night. :)

This is an interesting restaurant. It's staffed mostly with Phillipinos who don't speak a word of Chinese. Some don't even understand much English, so I found out. I guess it's a pre-requisite to speak English if you want to go to this restaurant. However, it was packed with mostly foreigners. Ya think they are all a little sick of Chinese food by now?

The food was delicious! Even for me, who's not big into Italian food. However, I do have one gripe, as always, they shoulda make it a non-smoking restaurant, dammit! I hate smoking and I've already had to put up with enough of that here, I'd like to enjoy a meal without having to choke down cigarette smoke at the same time. blegh!

But anyways... Eric, there's hope for you beyond just the McD's, KFC and Pizza Hut. :) And yes, you were brought up again last night, about how you don't eat anything. :p My dad's fav subject. hehe

Hi!!

I read some more on your weblog i've got the link from Fabian :-) but if you are okay whit it, i will responce.

If you are eating the same food each day, than you finaly want something else. I love Italy and I’ve been there for many time, but after a week I needed to eat something else.

Its great that your kid loves food and that he’s not a difficult eater.

In Holland people may still smoke in restaurants and I know what you mean… I hate it to smell the smoke while I am eating… but I’ve learn to live whit it. I’m really glad that it is forbidden for 3 years now to smoke on the work place.

Greetings,

Zakina
