Chinese vs. American

Here's a perfect example of how Americanized I've become...

I got a promotion (yay!) and my boss, who has been working on it for a few weeks now, gave me an offer letter today (double yay!). VERY exciting indeed! Only that the offer is slightly less than the promised amount. What do I do???

The Chinese in me says "Let it go. It's an excellent offer as it is. And well, us Chinese just aren't very good at being assertive."

The Americanized me says "Oh hell, he said...!"

Well, the American side prevailed in the end, only partly. I took it to my future boss instead of da BIG boss. Alas, I'm becoming more American everyday!
