Character Counts

Alex's school has this Character Counts motto, where they try to teach the kids to be more than just students, but good citizens as well. A remrakable thing, in my mind. Each year, each teacher gets to nominate two kids per class for the Character Counts awards. And there's no competition or anything fancy that comes with the awards, but it's a great way to recognize the kids that are being responsible, caring, among other good qualities.

Alex got nominated for being caring! He was so proud and we are so proud of him! His teacher said that he's always there to help when someone's in need. Woohoo! If only I can get him to help clean his room everyday... but that's another story!

But anyway, we went to the award ceremony, and each kid that was nominated got their names called by the principal and got a little certificate of recognition and a pencil. Something little but means a lot to the kids. Keep up the good work, Alex!!!
