The park was near empty, it being not tourism season and 4 degrees and windy outside. It was sooooo cold!
Funky little park it is. It's got sections that are devoted to different themes. There is a "Wisdom Avenue", a "Children's Playground", a "Adventure Park", a "18-Bridge Walk", a "Global Village", a "Fishermen's Pier", a Chinese Marine's Aircraft Carrier, and many others. We stopped only at Wisdom Avenue, the World Village, the Fisherman's Pier and the Aircraft Carrier, it being too cold and windy.

Wisdom Avenue is an interesting place. It's a long road that's lined by sculptures of the greatest minds and famous people in the world ever in history. From Sigmund Freud, to Beethovan, from the Wright Brothers, to Einstein, from Marie Currie, to Isaac Newton, from Charles Dickens to Christopher Columbus, and of course quite a lot of Chinese philosophers, inventors, poets and painters.

Global Village is a gathering of architectures famous of different countries of the world. We went through the Asian, European and Australian parts. I'm told that South American and African buildings must exist as well, though I didn't see them. But since I was more cold than curious at this point, I didn't find out for myself. Some of the buildings are a bit odd looking. Especially the supposed American style house. It didn't look much like most of the houses I have seen in the States. There are some quite representational styles of each country, and I suppose that's what they were aiming for. There are also some accompanying sculptures to go with some of the houses. Interesting ideas. The houses are sometimes rented out to groups coming for retreats and camps. Good way to recoup the investment costs of the park. Odd buildings also exists here. There was one that looked like an elephant, one that looked like a mushroom and one, a whale. Jared absolutely wanted to go into the whale one, but it was the park's office building and no visitors were allowed inside. Bummer.

The aircraft carrier was interesting, especially for Alex, who counted all the tanks and wanted so badly to climb on them. But there were "No climbing" signs plastered everywhere. Party poopers! We did climb to the top deck of the ship though. And there were real airplanes parked on deck as well as a helicopter. How cool!
Jared was so tired from all the walking, he fell asleep two minutes after we got in the car to come home. Poor baby. :)
