Day 2.

the boys

We went to the grocery store to look for "familiar" things today. We found cereal, cereal bars, pasta, cheese, and much more! One can find just about ANYTHING in Shanghai there days that you can find in the U.S. The boys were very happy to find their favorite cereal and ingredients to make Mac and Cheese. Woohoo! All the yummy Chinese food here and they want Mac and Cheese. Go figure!

Alex got Jared started on counting the number of Mopads on the streets. They are everywhere. Aside from bikes, VW Santanas, mopads are probably the most used forms of transportation here. And speaking of transportation, if you've ever been to Shanghai, you know what I'm talking about. It's down right scary to be in a car here! Everyone goes. They just go. There's no one following the traffic rules. Most cars will turn left whenever they want to and doesn't matter there are incoming cars from the other direction. And if there's no lane where they want to go, they make one. Bikes are even braver, they ride around like they are protected by some invisible cage that no 2-ton car can possibly break them. My hats off to the people in Shanghai. They are bravers souls than I.

Tomorrow we head to BeiJing. Should be interesting. We'll get to see the Great Wall, the Forbidden City among other sites. Hope to have some nice pictures too. Will update when we get back on Sunday.
