Every movie nowadays have a sequal, right? No matter how lousy. Now why would they make "Deuce Biglow 2"????
Anyway, let's not get into that.
Let's talk about Alex and Jared, and Eric, of course.
Jared's so funny. Such a crazy happy child. He's VERY expressive. I'm not sure if it's that I'm more intuned to him, or I'm more experienced as a mother now. I remember wishing that Alex would start talking when he was 1, so that I would know what he wanted. (Boy, did I regret that! Eric has not let me, and probably will never let me, live that one down. Be careful what you wish for! Now Alex doesn't stop talking! But I'm getting side-tracked here.) But Jared, boy, does he let me know what he wants! He's managed to make a few sounds, like "ba" for bus, "chr" for chair, "so" for sock, etc. And I absolutely LOVE when he says "ma ma ma ma ma" for me. :) Especially when he looks all around and can't find me. He yells top of his lungs, "ma ma ma ma ma". What a wild child he is!
And he's also understanding more and more what we tell him. When asked, retorically really, "Nap time, Jared. Want to go take a nap?" He immediately shakes his head vigorously!
Looking at Jared now, who'd thought all that he had to go through when he was born?! We were really lucky, all things considered. And he's as happy and healthy as can be now, the only reminder being the long scar on his chest.
My children both seem to prefer me over Eric, for now anyways. Poor Eric. Maybe cuz they spend much more time with me, being a stay-at-home mom and all. Wherever I go at home, there my boys are, quite to my dismay really.
Speaking of home... we've been renovating our house for almost a year now. And the end is nowhere in sight. Thanks to Eric's Dad, we've been able to do the renovation much cheaper than it would have cost us, but still, it's costing an arm and a leg. Considering we are changing everything except for the roof, makes me wonder why we didn't just pay more and get a better house. bah!
There are a few good things that come out of all this work though. We are able to mostly get what we want, which is quite nice. We are also learning to use power tools, and doing some of the work. It's fascinating! And, we got to know Dad better. Well, me and the kids that is. Jared's now very excited to see grandpa (pah pah as he calls him now) every morning. Alex, on the other hand, likes to hang out with grandpa and ask all sorts of questions. Poor Grandpa's been very patient! heh.
Oh, and we just did my office. Woohoo! I have a nice office, and now, it's even better! I share it with Alex. Well, okay, I put Alex's art supplies and table in my office, so as to give him more space to work on it, and, so that he could be with me and have his own space. Instead of sitting on my lap all the time, as he likes to do. Alex is very creative! He comes up with all sorts of cool drawings and builds awesome stuff out of Legos and K'nex. Though a lot of it are weapons of some sort or other, to my disgust. Things he tells me are weapons anyways, swords, guns, walkie-talkies. :) The other morning, he built this city out of Legos. VERY cool! Only that the "toilet" is about a quarter of the city size. :)
Okay, I should go to bed now. Or I'd be grumpy tomorrow. Okay, grumpier. :p
